Instructions
  1. Place flour in the bowl
  2. Add all ground spices
  3. Add baking powder and make a well in the centre
  4. Crack egg into the well
  5. Add milk into the well
  6. Gently whisk until all ingredients are combined and there are no lumps
  7. in your mixture
  8. Grate your apples starting with a whole apple and turning it around so
  9. you can grate all sides of the apple down to the core, including the skin
  10. Add grated apple and raisins/sultanas and mix with a spoon
  11. Put half of your oil/butter in fry pan (or spray pan) and heat on medium
  12. Place spoonfuls of your batter into the pan – small spoon of batter for
  13. pikelet or small pancakes, big spoonfuls for larger pancakes
  14. Cook for 2 minutes or until lots of tiny bubbles appear
  15. Turn over with the spatula and cook for a further 2 minutes
  16. Place on a plate to serve with your favourite topping or fruit.
Recipe Notes

Other Options
Serve with whipped cream, whipped butter or whipped ricotta
Use as an accompaniment to pork dishes (similar to how a potato
pancake/rosti might be used)
