Instructions
  1. Preheat Oven to 180 degrees
  2. Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper
  3. Place flour, salt and butter in a bowl
  4. Rub in butter using just your finger tips until it resembles crumbs (or you can mix ingredients in a food processor)
  5. Add water a bit at a time until the dough comes together in a ball- you may not need all of the water. Do not over mix or overwork your dough
  6. Add grated cheese and gently mix in, again do not overwork the pastry
  7. Roll out on the board until it s a few mm thick
  8. Cut out the pastry into long strips, you can bake like this or twist
  9. As you are twisting each one place directly onto the baking paper
  10. Bake in oven for 12-15 minutes or until pastry is golden and crisp

Optional Extras
1. Wrap pastry in glad wrap and chill in refrigerator for 30mins. Bring it to room temperature for 10-15mins before you try to roll it out
2. Add your favorite herbs dried or fresh (finely chopped) - oregano, basil, parsley to the pastry before cooking
3. Serve with relish or tomato sauce – try the Get Kids Cooking easy tomato sauce or relish recipe
4. Serve with a soup for lunch or as a tasty snack
5. Sprinkle unbaked straws with paprika
