A middle eastern delight, so simple to make and ever so tasty as a dip

  1. Open the can of chick peas and drain off excess liquid then add to the food processor bowl (save a little of the excess)
  2. Peel and roughly chop the garlic and add to the chick peas in bowl
  3. Add the tahini, salt, pepper, oil and lemon juice and blitz/mix in the food processor until smooth
  4. To make your hummus really smooth, add a little of the saved water from the chick peas when you drained them or a little extra oil
  5. Continue to blend until smooth
  6. Serve and enjoy!

Stick blender, food processor with blade or blender
Measuring spoons
Tin opener
Fruit juicer or squeezer for lemon

Optional Extras
1. You can add a little ground cumin for an extra spice hit
2. Lightly toast some Lebanese or Pitta breads in the oven or toaster – serve them warm with hummus
3. You can also serve with carrot or celery sticks for a healthy lunch box dip
