Caesar Salad
A great simple salad, packed with protein for growing bodies!
Instructions
  1. Remove the core from the lettuce and rinse under cold water
  2. Remove all the leaves and pat dry using paper towel then set aside
  3. In a small saucepan, bring water to the boil then add the eggs
  4. Boil for 3 minutes, drain and then run under cold water for 1 minute
  5. When cool enough to handle, peel the shell from the eggs and using a small knife, slice in 1/8 pieces
  6. Using a clean knife slice the bacon dice into small pieces
  7. Spray small fry pan with spray oil to stop sticking, fry the bacon for 3-5 minutes until golden and crispy, stirring with a wooden spoon
  8. Tear the lettuce leaves into small pieces using your hands and arrange in the bottom of a bowl
  9. Add the sliced egg, cooked bacon and pre-baked croutons on top of the lettuce
  10. Shave or Grate the parmesan cheese on the top ad drizzle with our GKC Caesar dressing
  11. Place whole anchovies decoratively across the salad (optional)
  12. Eat and enjoy!
  13. Caesar Dressing:
  14. Finely chop garlic
  15. Mince the anchovies as finely as you can until they are almost a paste
  16. Whisk all the ingredients in a bowl
  17. Alternatively blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth
  18. Pour over your salad.

Optional Extras
1. Try adding some grilled chicken for extra protein
2. Use ham instead of bacon, or omit if vegetarian
3. Iceberg lettuce works just as well as cos lettuce
4. To bake your own croutons– cut slices of bread into small cubes, place on a baking tray and cook in the oven at 180 degrees for 10 minutes.
5. You can drizzle the croutons with a little olive oil and or crushed garlic
6. Add sliced avocado or grilled prawns to you salad
